Week 4 Pupdate: Growing, Changing & Playful!
The puppies are growing and changing so quickly! It’s been so fun watching their playful personalities begin to emerge.
They’ve even found their voices and occasionally let out the cutest little barks.
We’re currently feeding a mix of:
- Real Whitefish and Brown Rice Recipe
- Freeze-Dried Raw Beef Recipe
We also supplement with:
- Immunoshroom
- Plaque Control for healthy teeth
- Gastro Pro Plus — a digestive blend with prebiotics, probiotics, enzymes, and soothing herbs to support their transition from mama’s milk.
Puppy Food & Nutrition Transition
This week, the puppies are starting to eat puppy food! We use and love Pawtree Dog Food because it’s made with top-quality, human-grade ingredients right here in the U.S. It contains no artificial flavors or fillers—something very important to us, since animal feed standards are often much lower than those for human food.
We have been very involved in PawTree's advisory counsel and strongly believe in feeding clean, high-quality food. Many dog food brands include low-quality fillers like corn, wheat gluten, soy, and meat by-products—ingredients we strictly avoid to ensure optimal health for your puppy.
Puppy Selections Begins at 5 Weeks Old!
- Puppy Selection: Puppies are chosen at 5 weeks of age, allowing us to better assess their individual personalities, colors, and sizes.
- Personality Notes & Media: Before selection begins, we upload updated photos, videos, and personality notes so you can review them in advance.
- Waitlist Order: Selection runs strictly in waitlist order. Each family will have a dedicated 30-minute window to choose their puppy.
- Remote Accommodations: You will receive your specific time slot and Zoom link ahead of time. If you’re unable to attend live, we’ll work with you—just be prepared to send us your top picks and preferences in advance!
Pet Profile & Puppy Prep
As soon as your puppy is chosen next week, we’ll create a complimentary PetProfile for them and send an email with food ordering instructions. Be sure to place your food order at least 10 days before puppy pickup.
Our puppies are well-socialized and exposed to a variety of sights and sounds. Daily, they hear things like fire trucks, doorbells, pots and pans, and other dogs barking. This week, we’ll introduce the vacuum and blow dryer to help them learn that loud sounds aren’t scary—an important part of building resilience and confidence.
