Personality: Blossom is very intelligent and carries herself with a calm, stoic, almost regal air. She likes to lie back and quietly observe her surroundings, taking everything in with thoughtful composure. We love how peaceful and gentle she is, bringing a soothing presence to our home. She is wonderful with our children, who adore her and feel safe around her. Blossom also loves to run, play, and chase a ball with boundless enthusiasm. She has been easy to train, responding well to guidance, and she is exceptionally sweet and well-mannered with our other animals.

Blossom is a key member of our breeding program, exemplifying the traits we value most: stable temperament, excellent health, and a classic Miniature Golden Retriever appearance. She is gentle, intelligent, and affectionate — a perfect companion for families, therapy work, and emotional support roles.

Genetic Health

  Blossom has been tested through Embark for inherited genetic conditions. Results have been reviewed and are used to inform breeding decisions within our program.

Ophthalmology

• OFA Eyes: Completed
  Eyes have been evaluated by a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist. We conduct testing for the eye to detect any genetic issue that isn’t cover by DNA testing and can be cleared by the veterinary optometrist.

Blossom’s Lineage

Blossom herself was carefully selected to join our program because she embodies the traits we prioritize: health, temperament, and breed-true appearance. Her parents were bred by another trusted breeder, and she carries the qualities that support our program’s mission.

Our Miniature Golden Retrievers are developed according to the Designer Breed Registry standard (Golden Retriever × Cocker Spaniel × Poodle). Our goal is to maintain Golden Retriever at 50% of the line, ensuring the breed’s hallmark traits — temperament, appearance, and versatility — remain predominant. Puppies inherit traits in varying combinations, but we carefully pair parents to enhance desirable qualities and reduce traits that do not meet our program standards.

The Cocker Spaniel and Poodle contributions help:

• Reduce shedding

• Introduce genetic diversity, lowering the COI (coefficient of inbreeding)

• Increase vigor, longevity, and overall health

Blossom carries two copies of the Golden Retriever recessive smooth coat gene, which ensures her puppies will consistently have the classic Golden Retriever look while retaining the low-shedding benefits of the Cocker and Poodle influence. Her health, temperament, and structure make her an ideal parent for producing small, well-rounded companions suitable for therapy, service, emotional support, and family roles.

Blossom comes from the sweetest parents, Lila and Jasper. Jasper is an outstanding purebred Golden Retriever and Lila is a Cockapoo, which gives us the genetic recipe to reduce the size and shedding of our Taylormade Mini Goldens. We love this combination because Blossom embodies a sweet, loving personality, is intelligent, and is excellent with children and other pets. She’s truly a wonderful example of the breed.
