Meet our Mama dog Taylormade’s Frankie Lightning

“Frankie” call name

Frankie’s Stats

Weight full grown: 23 lbs pounds

height: 12” inches tall

Registered with The Designer Breed Registry

Color & Coat texture: Light gold/ cream, straight coat

Shedding: Frankie has the classic, luscious Golden Retriever coat and carries two copies of the CC gene associated with heavier seasonal shedding. The wonderful thing about her is that, after grooming this gorgeous, almost-white coat, she doesn’t shed as heavily as a Standard Golden Retriever. We believe this may be due to contributions from the poodle and cocker in her background, both of which tend to have lower-shedding coats. Although her DNA indicates she is predisposed to heavy shedding, our experience is that she falls more toward the moderate end of the spectrum. We feed her top-quality food, supplement with fish oil, and groom her regularly, and these practices all help keep her shedding under better control.

Health testing: She is tested through Embark vet DNA profile, PennHip, OFA eyes (Next exam is scheduled for Sept 2nd 2026), heart (next exam Sept 2nd 2026), patella’s, elbows, and hips. Links below;

Personality: Frankie’s personality is very gentle and sweet! She loves everyone she comes in contact with and always approaches new people with a soft, friendly manner. Like her mother Atari, she has always walked well on a leash and carefully watches as she walks to make sure she stays by our side. We really appreciate this natural trait because it makes walking her so enjoyable. She has a lovely temperament and has been easy to train in all aspects. She is excellent with our children and other pets.

Frankie is a beloved family member here at Taylormade Mini Golden’s, cherished alongside her parents, Atari and Huxley. We have carefully selected these dogs for our English cream-colored lines, which are exceptionally gorgeous and light in color. Frankie has a distinctive black birthmark that begins on her forehead and extends down to her ear; this mark is not genetic but rather a somatic mutation. We love her unique appearance and are thankful to have such a wonderful, well-tempered Mini Golden like her parents in our program.
