✈️ Puppy Go-Home Guide: Flight Care Instructions
“Hi! It's so exciting to have your new puppy fly home! Here is your checklist to make pickup and the journey home smooth and stress-free.”
— Jeff & Michele Taylor 🐾
✈️ Your Flight Day Checklist
1. Finding Your Puppy Nanny at the Airport
If you have a flight nanny: Please be on time and waiting at the airport when they arrive.
If you are flying into Salt Lake City, Utah: We will be on time and waiting for you!
Communication: We will set up a group text with you and your nanny so everyone can communicate easily on travel day.
2. Travel Bag Handoff
Your puppy nanny or the person meeting you at Salt Lake Airport will keep the travel bag for the next transport leg.
Option to Purchase: You're welcome to bring your own travel bag, or purchase the bag your puppy traveled in directly from us for $45—in which case the bag is yours to keep!
Included Essentials: We are including potty pads for the ride home, plus a safety collar and a scent toy from us to remind your puppy of home.
3. What's Inside Your "Wag Bag" 🎒
We send your puppy off with a packed Wag Bag full of everything they need for the transition:
📜 Medical Record & Registration: Official puppy registration certificate & vaccination record.
🥣 Food & Toppers: PawTree puppy food + PawPairings.
🥤 Travel Essentials: Travel bowl + potty pads.
🌿 Gut Support: Gastro Pro Plus.
🛡️ Medical Insurance: Trupanion insurance certificate (30 days included).
🧸 Scent Toy: Your puppy’s favorite toy (a little piece of home!)
🧼 Grooming: Puppy shampoo packet.
🛑 CRITICAL AIRPORT SAFETY NOTICE
Skip Public Pet Relief Areas!Do NOT take your puppy to any airport pet relief area. You never know if a sick animal has been there, and disease transmission (like Parvovirus) is a real risk for young, unvaccinated puppies.
The Family Restroom Solution: Bring your puppy into a private family restroom stall.
Use Potty Pads: Lay a fresh potty pad directly on the bathroom stall floor, let your puppy go on the pad, toss the pad in the trash, and you're good to go! Safe, clean, and zero ground contact.
FEEDING & INSURANCE
🥣 Feeding On the Way Home
During Travel: You can offer your puppy a small treat or a few kibbles (no more than 10 at a time) during travel — it's a great bonding moment!
Keep it Light: Keep food and water light during the ride home to prevent motion sickness.
When You Arrive Home:
Feed your puppy 1/4 cup of food.
Mix in 1/4 capsule of Gastro Pro Plus.
Sprinkle 1/2 packet of PawPairings on top.
🛡️ Trupanion Insurance Reminder
⚠️ ACTIVATE WITHIN 24 HOURS
Your Wag Bag includes a Trupanion certificate for 30 days of medical insurance. Be sure to activate it within 24 hours of your puppy arriving home so coverage doesn't slip!
